Water damage
Water damage is a frequent and often-ignored problem in the house that may quickly grow into serious issues. While it is tempting to dismiss a little leak in the roof or bathroom tiles as insignificant, the fact is that a minor leak may be the beginning of a much greater issue, ranging from mildew to much worse.

Here are 5 forms of water damage and how to prevent them.
Burst Pipes
It does not take long for a busted pipe to create substantial water damage. In this plumbing emergency, find the main shutdown valve.

Aging Water Heaters
A water heater is significantly more prone to leak as it ages. This is particularly true for water heaters older than 10 years. Keep an eye out for symptoms of rust. If the tank is not cleaned regularly, it might rust away, so include frequent water heater repair in your home maintenance regimen.

Leaking Appliances
Leaking appliances may progressively damage floors and walls. Because of the size of a refrigerator, leaks might go undetected for an extended period. A washing machine’s supply hose is similarly prone to leaking. It is important to check for dampness around water-using equipment to ensure they are water-tight. If you find an appliance leak, fix it as quickly as possible. Delaying repairs increases the risk of water damage.

Rainy Weather
Rainy weather may cause considerable water damage. Clogged gutters prevent rainfall from draining. As a result, the underlying components of the roof may twist and deteriorate. Water may also pool around the house and seep into the foundation.
While you cannot control the weather, you can be proactive by keeping your gutters clean. This should be done once or twice a year. You may also want to consider adding gutter guards to prevent leaves and debris out of your gutters and downspouts. If you suspect you have a drainage problem, consider hiring a landscaper who can modify the slope of your land, create a catch basin, or another remedy to avoid water from accumulating near your foundation.

Floods
Severe weather events like floods may wreak havoc on your property, rotting timber, warping flooring, and crumbling drywall. In addition to destroying the structure of your house, flooding may also damage its possessions. If your property has been flooded, complete water extraction and dehumidification services can dry your home and possessions while also eliminating the potential of mold development.
